Last week we visited a brewery in Thun, Switzerland as part of an embedded study abroad program. The brewery will export their beer under a different brand name, and it turned out to be economics-themed!

Hi everyone! Here are 5 stories I read this past week and wanted to share with you:

  1. Despite a labor shortage in the US, the visa system is still making it hard for immigrants to get work visas.

  2. A look at the ways in which American taxpayers will bear the burden from Russian sanctions.

Week 10 is over and I’m up to 8 books for the year. I was able to knock out a new fiction book, Salt to the Sea, while we were traveling. It was different than a lot of the WWII historical fiction I’ve read before and seemed to really focus on the characters in the story more than the Nazis/Russians. The book was centered on the sinking of the Wilhelm Gustloff, which I hadn’t heard of before.
